Elgin Echo, Saturday, 2 July 1908.

Mrs. Mary Cass, of Guttenberg, wife of a blacksmith working for Fred Leitgen, was struck by a train in the yards at Guttenberg Sunday and sustained injuries from which she died on Monday morning. She was the mother of 10 children, the oldest being only 17 years old. The family moved to Guttenberg about a year ago from Amboy, Illinois.
