FARRIS, REINKE, WESTFALL, NIKODIM

Edna Marie Farris, 86, of Prescott, died Easter Sunday, April 16, 1995 at Prescott Samaritan Village in Prescott.

She was born Oct. 1, 1908 in Wagner Township, rural Farmersburg, Iowa, to Charles A. and Floretta Westfall Reinke.

Mrs. Farris had received her education in the Froelich and Farmersburg, Iowa, schools and graduated from the Farmersburg Public High School in 1926. As a young woman, she began her career as a teacher in the country schools in northeastern Iowa and in the years that passed, her career took her to various parts of the country.

Miss Reinke married Thomas L. Farris of Henryetta, Okla., and 40 years ago they moved to Prescott. She was a member of the Prescott United Methodist Church and as long as her health permitted was very active in both church and community affairs. Edna enjoyed her friends and had a strong faith which was always her guiding light.

She is survived by one niece, Marla Nikodim of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and nephews, Garon Reinke of Madison, Wis., and Robert Reinke of Janesville, Wis., and their families.

Mrs. Farris was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Tom, Jan. 29, 1980; and a brother, Gordon C. Reinke of Monona, Iowa in 1992.

Services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, April 20, at Memory Chapel Mortuary, 131 Grove Ave., in Prescott with Father Gary A. Hawley officiating. Private burial will follow in the family plot in Mountain View Cemetery in Prescott. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday at Prescott Samaritan Village Chapel, 1030 Scott Drive. Arrangements are under the direction of Memory Chapel Mortuary in Prescott.
