Monona, Ia. - Funeral services for Charles Klingeman, 70, who died Saturday, were conducted here Wednesday in St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church by the Rev. R.C. Schlueter, pastor. Burial was in the Lutheran Cemetery.
Mr. Klingeman was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Klingeman and was born in Madison County, Ill., on July 25, 1873. When 11 years old he came to Iowa with his parents, who settled on a farm near Monona. He married Emma Lembke June 4, 1900, and they farmed for 39 years, later moving to Monona.
Mr. Klingeman served as city marshal for four years and as constable for several years.
Surviving are his widow; three sons, Eldo of Rockford, Ill., Orville of Guttenberg, and Sgt. Woodrow Klingeman of Victorville, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. C.A. Johnson of Des Moines, Mrs. Joe Mista of Monona, and Mrs. Vernon Bolger of Waukegan, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; two brothers, Herman of McCook, Neb., and August of Monona; and one sister, Carolyn Klingeman of Monona.
