Terry Charles Schmidt
Terry Charles Schmidt, 56, Farmersburg, Iowa, died suddenly Friday, October 25, 2013 at Central Community Hospital, Elkader, Iowa.
Terry was born on February 11, 1957, in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, to Carl (Bud) Elmer and Vergean Mae (Freitag) Schmidt. Terry graduated from MFL High School with the Class of 1975.
He was united in marriage to Ann Moses on September 12, 1987, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Garnavillo, Iowa. They were the proud parents of two sons, Chris and Kyle. Terry previously owned and operated the Farmersburg Locker for twenty-four years and was currently a rural route mail carrier for the United States Postal Service.
Terry was a member of the Eagles Club – Chapter 4114 in Guttenberg, Iowa. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cutting wood, bowling with his sons and spending time with his family and his dog, Jessie. Terry will be sadly missed by the many people who knew him.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Schmidt, Farmersburg; two sons, Chris (Kayla) Schmidt, Farmersburg and Kyle Schmidt, Farmersburg; two grandchildren, Kennedy and Vincent Schmidt; his mother, Vergean Schmidt, Farmersburg; one sister, Teresa (Brian) Eilers, Luana; one brother, Tim (Nancy) Schmidt, Ellenton,FL; and ”Jessie Dogs” and a host of other family members and friends.
Terry was preceded in death by his father, Carl (Bud) Schmidt and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 28, 2013, from 4-8 p.m. at the Leonard-Grau Funeral Home in Monona, Iowa, and one hour before services at the church on Tuesday.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2013, at 11 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, Farmersburg, Iowa. The Rev. Dr. Jennifer Edinger will officiate.
Burial will follow in Farmersburg – Wagner Cemetery, Farmersburg, Iowa.
In Lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
Leonard – Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Monona, Iowa is in charge of arrangements.
