Clayton, Ia. - Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Smasal Lippert, 75, who died Saturday after a long illness, were held in Peace Lutheran Church here Monday afternoon. The Rev. William F. Goetz, pastor, officiated. Interment was made in the Clayton Cemetery.
Mrs. Lippert was born in Clayton on Dec. 22, 1868, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Smasal. She was married to George Lippert, of Chicago, on April 24, 1901, and the new home was established in Chicago. Mr. Lippert died in 1927.
Mrs. Lippert returned to Clayton in 1939 and has lived here since.
There were no children. Surviving relatives are Mrs. Yetta Mecum and Kate and John Soelner, all of Bagley, Wis.; Mrs. Andrew Graham and Mrs. John Miler, both of Dubuque, Ia., and Mrs. Emily Buehlmann and Margaret Buehlmann, both of Chicago.
Pallbearers at the services were Lyle Fischer, Theodore Hetz, Frank Laarveld, Ed Pieper, Frank Schultz, and Henry Szemkus.
