Postville, Ia. - Funeral services were held here Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Black home for Mrs. Louisa Meyer, 86, who died Monday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Meta Block. Mrs. Meyer suffered a fall four years ago and had been in poor health ever since.
The Rev. Frederick R. Ludwig, past of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, officiated and burial was in the Postville Cemetery. The pallbearers were six nephews of Mrs. Meyer.
Mrs. Meyer, nee Miss Louise Schroeder, was born June 15, 1854, on a farm near Elkport, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Schroeder. She spent all her early life near here and on Aug. 4, 1879, was married in Elkader to August D. Meyer. They took their residence on Mr. Meyer's farm in Clayton County, south of here, living there until 1910, when they retired to Postville. Her husband preceded her in death in 1929.
She is survived by five children: Mrs. Meta Block, Fred, and Alfred, all of Postville; Mrs. Henry Dahms of Luana, and Henry of Deer River, Minn.
