MECKLENBERG, MECKLENBURG, MECKELBERG

Elkader, Ia. - Funeral services for John H. Meckelberg (sic), 47, were held at Witt's Funeral Home here with the Rev. S.J. Strandjord, pastor of the Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial was in the Elkader Cemetery. Mr. Meckelberg died at Independence following a lingering illness.

He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Meckelberg and was born Dec. 15, 1892 in Wisconsin. The family moved to Iowa, settling at Elkader. Later they moved to St. Olaf, since the family home. Surviving are his mother; one sister, Lenora; and three brothers, Norman, Joseph, and Ralph. His father died Jan. 1, 1935.
