Guttenberg, Ia. - Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon for Frederick J. Hedemann, 85, who died at his home here Thursday afternoon. The last rites will be conducted at St. Paul's United Lutheran Church at 2 o'clock with the Rev. H.C. Coovert, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the City Cemetery.
Hedemann was born at Garnavillo on May 14, 1855, a son of Mr. and Mrs. J.F.G. Hedemann. He grew to manhood in that community and on March 26, 1878 was married to Marcia Jenkins. The couple moved to a farm in Clayton Township, Clayton County, where they made their home until 25 years ago. They then came to Guttenberg. Mrs. Hedemann preceded her husband in death on April 10, 1937.
Surviving are five children: Mrs. Lulu Lingrain of Denver, Colo., Elmer of Clayton, and Mrs. Edna Scholz, Mrs. Lottie Ihm, and Mrs. Fionda Geuder, all of Guttenberg; and one brother, Charles of Garnavillo. One son preceded him in death.
