Monona, Ia. – Special: Funeral services for August Haberichter, 85, who died here Thursday, were held at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church Sunday afternoon. The Rev. R. C. Schlueter, pastor, officiated. Burial was in the city East Side Cemetery.
Mr. Haberichter, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Gottlieb Haberichter, was born at Schultzenhagen, Germany, Feb. 4, 1859. He married Augusta Waskow May 20, 1881, and the couple emigrated to America. They settled near Chicago and after a year came to Marquette, Ia, where they lived until 1888 when they moved to a farm in Allamakee County. They retired to Monona in 1909. Mrs. Haberichter died in 1927.
Surviving are two sons, Reinhart, of La Porte City, Ia., and Charles of Monona; two daughters, Mrs. Helene Fultz, of La Porte, Ia., and Clara Haberichter, of Monona; eight grandchildren, two of whom are in the U.S. service, Pvt. Ralph Waller, serving in France, and Pvt. Robert Fultz, of Camp Wolters, Texas; and 12 great-grandchildren.
