McGregor, Ia. - Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha Cords, 74, who died Sunday following a lingering illness, will be held at the Congregational Church here at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. The Rev. J.F. Parsons, pastor, will be in charge and burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Cords was the former Bertha Tieden and was born in Clayton County, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Tieden, pioneer residents of the Osborne vicinity. After her marriage to C.J. Cords, she lived seven years in Osborne where Mr. Cords had a general store and from there the family moved to Elkader. In 1914 they came to McGregor.

Mr. Cords died in 1927. A daughter died in infancy, and a son, a year ago.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Frank Dahltstrom and Pearl Cords, and one son, Aquilla J. Cords, all of McGregor; three sisters and one brother, Mrs. George Feller, Amelia Tieden, and Charles Tieden, all of Osborne, and Mrs. George Cassidy of Elkader.
