Marquette, Ia. - Funeral services for Charles Gaulke, 84, who died Tuesday following a stroke, were held at the home here Thursday afternoon. The Rev. H.H. Kirschman, pastor of the Lutheran Church at McGregor, officiated. Burial was in Pleasant Grove Cemetery at McGregor.
Mr. Gaulke was born in Germany on Dec. 17, 1855. When six years old, he came to America with his parents. The family lived at Prairie du Chien, Wis., several years and then move to Marquette. Mr. Gaulke was employed here for 50 years as bridge and engine carpenter for the Milwaukee Railroad.
Surviving are his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Ray Peck, and a son, Carl, all of Marquette.
