BENZING, NICHOLS, KLOTZBACH

Monona, Ia. - Funeral services for Kenneth O. Benzing, 39, were held at the Giard Methodist Church Monday afternoon with the Rev. W.R. Ehlert, pastor, officiating, assisted by Rev. H.W. Farnham, pastor of the Monona Methodist Church. Burial was in the Giard Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Reuben Bernhard, Louis Wagner, George Ferguson, Harvey Waskow, Fred Peglow, Dave Olmsted, Algie Nichols, and Herman Schneider.

Mr. Benzing was stricken while attending the national music contest at St. Paul several weeks ago and he was taken to St. Luke's Hospital at Cedar Rapids, where he died Friday.

He was born Feb. 8, 1901 at Giard, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Benzing. He attended school there and later at the Cedar Rapids Business College. He then studied radio at Chicago. On April 1, 1924 he was married to Miss Daisy Nichols at Rochster, Minn. They lived on a farm until 1926 when they came to Monona where Mr. Benzing and his brother, Newton, opened an electrical appliance and radio shop.

Surviving are his widow; two children, Kendall and Jeannine; his mother, Mrs. Ellen Benzing; his brother Newton, all of Monona; and his grandmother, Mrs. Klotzbach of Froelich. His father preceded him in death.
