Monona, Ia. - Funeral services for Mrs. Dan Doody, 90, who died Friday following a lingering illness, were held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church here Monday. The Rev. Luke Donlon, pastor, officiated at the requiem high mass and at the burial in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: J.L. and D.J. Grady, Robert Doody, Eugene Russell, Jr., and D.F. and Dan O'Leary.
Mrs. Doody was born Dec. 28, 1849, at St. Louis, Mo., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis O'Leary. She came with her parents to Monona in 1853 where she spent the rest of her life. On July 2, 1867, she was married to Daniel Hagerty. He died March 24, 1884, and on Jan. 30, 1888, she was married to Daniel Doody. Mr. and Mrs. Doody made their home on a farm near Froelich until 1912, when they retired and came to Monona.
Surviving with Mr. Doody are seven children: D.F. Hagerty of Polson, Mont., Mrs. Mary Evans and Mrs. Elizabeth Grady, both of St. Paul, Mrs. Margaret Kennedy of Duluth, Monn., P.J. Doody of St. Paul, Mrs. Kitty Russell of Monona, and Mrs. Loretta Hassenger of Cincinnati, O.; 24 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
Five children, three brothers, and one sister preceded her in death.
