Contributor: Connie L. (Kelly) Ellis - Schlitter Family researcherServices for Mrs. Fred (Emma) Fett, 87, who died Thursday, July 4, 1957 at Monona, Iowa were held Saturday at the Pilgrim Evangelical United Brethren Church, with Rev. A.W. Ebert officiating. Burial was in the Monona City Cemetery.
Mrs. Fett was born December 16, 1869 in Linton Township Allamakee County, Iowa in a log house, the daughter of Adolph and Caroline (Ziesow) Schlitter. Her education was completed in the rural school. Most of her married life was spent on the farm in Allamakee County. In 1921 she and her husband, Fred Fett moved to Monona. Since her husband's death in 1928 she has lived with her daughter.
Surviving are a son, Alfred Fett of Monona; three daughters, Mrs. Will Aird, and Mrs. Gilbert Wiethorn, both of Monona and Mrs. Ralph Lund of Crookstone, Minnesota. Three brothers, Albert Schlitter, Theodore Schlitter, and Emil Schlitter, all of Monona, eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Emma and Fredrick Herman Fett married on February 18, 1892 at the Watson church.
The names of their children were:
Alfred Walter Fett, Clara Henriette Caroline Fett who married Gilbert Wiethorn, Sr., Lillian Emma Marie Fett who married William John Aird, Adaline Esther Elizabeth Fett who was first married to Leo Albert Mielke. After Leo died in 1949, Adaline married Ralph Lund. There was another son, Arthur Fett, who died at the age of seven months.
