Elgin Echo, Thursday, 12 September 1912.
Fred Reinhart, well known to all our citizens, passed away at his home some seven miles east of here Saturday morning, September 7th, after an illness of a couple weeks. Congestion of the lungs was the immediate cause of death. For years he had followed farming as an occupation and was a hard working, industrious man. He had spent most of his life in this vicinity and was well known. Being of a genial temperament he was well liked by his associates and his death has caused sorrow among a large circle of friends.
Mr. Reinhart was about thirty-eight years of age and had been married twice, his first wife dying some years ago. He is survived by a wife, daughter, mother, two sisters and a brother, besides many relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held from the Apostolic church, Tuesday afternoon, where a large circle of sorrowing relatives and friends gathered to pay their last sad respects to the departed and interment was made in the cemetery there.
