CONNELL RITES ON WEDNESDAY

Resident of Area Passes in Guttenberg

Final rites were conducted at St. Joseph's Catholic Church here this Wednesday for Mrs. Elizabeth A. Connell, 75, who died Sunday at the Guttenberg Municipal hospital. Rev. Norbert Showalter officiated at the services and burial was in St. Joseph's Catholic cemetery.

Pallbearers for the rites were Gerald Berns, Robert Berns, Donald Berns, Norman Berns, Francis Berns and Verdine Berns.

Mrs. Connell had been in poor health for some time and until a short time prior to her death at the hospital had been making her home with Mrs. Evelyn Lowell in Guttenberg.

Mrs. Connell was born February 21, 1891 in Clayton county, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Berns. In the year 1916 she was married to Bert Connell. They were the parents of one son, Gordon Connell of Clayton, who survives.

Also surviving are eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Ray Berns of Clayton, and Verni Berns of Waukon; and one sister, Mrs. Leander Stroschein of Clayton.
