Garnavillo, Ia. - Funeral services were conducted at St. Paul's Lutheran Church here Tuesday afternoon by the Rev. D.A. Flesner, pastor, for Curtis Abbott, 31, who died Sunday at Finley Hospital in Dubuque of a streptococcus infection with which he was stricken at Christmas time. Burial was in the City Cemetery.

Mr. Abbott, son of Mr. and Mrs. John M. Abbott, was born at Guttenberg on July 7, 1911. He was gradated from the public school there in 1929 and since that time was connected with the U.S. Engineers of the Rock Island District with the exception of one year, when he was with the Iowa State Highway Commission.

He was married Feb. 20, 1937 to Miss Helen Schumacher and the past two years they made their home in Rock Island, Ill.

Besides his widow and parents, Mr. Abbott is survived by one brother, Vyrie of Guttenberg.
