Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 25, 1962, for Albert Glawe, St. Olaf, at 2 p.m. in the Peace United Church of Christ, Elkader, with the Rev. Alvin Volle officiating.
Burial was in the Clayton Center Cemetery. Pallbearers were Roy, Karl, Harley and Harold Glawe, Harold Knoke and Harry Seeland.
Albert, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Glawe, was born June 3, 1891, in Read township, Clayton County, Iowa, and died Saturday, Sept. 22, 1962, at the Central Community Hospital, Elkader, of a heart attack.
Mr. Glawe received his education in the rural schools and chose farming as his vocation. He was a lifelong resident of Clayton County, having retired from farming 10 years ago and moved to St. Olaf.
He was a member of the Peace United Church of Christ, Elkader.
Mr. Glawe was married to Lucinda Gottschalk, Nov. 5, 1913. They were the parents of 11 children, of whom three preceded him in death, Harvey in World War II, Darlene and Raymond in infancy.
He is survived by his wife; five daughters, Mrs. Gladys Coobs, Iowa City, Mrs. Clayton (Lucille) O'Neal, Mrs. Luvern (Vera Mae) Palas and Mrs. Clifford (Betty) Leuchtenmacher, St. Olaf, and Bonnie Lee Glawe, Cedar Rapids; three sons, Lloyd, Bernelle and Verdine Glawe, St.
