Garber, Ia. - Funeral services for Mrs. Lewis A. Zearley, 69, were held here with burial in the Garber Cemetery. Her death occurred Jan. 7, following a short illness.
As Alta Mae Bowman, she was born March 18, 1873, in Clayton County, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Bowman. She was married Aug 12, 1892, to Mr. Zearley and for 25 years she served as an operator for the Farmers' Telephone Company and for 19 years was assistant postmistress in the local postoffice.
Surviving are her husband; two sons, Ray and James; seven grandchildren; her mother; and two sisters, Mrs. John Schweikert of Garber and Mrs. Arthur Gull of Colesburg.
