Elkader, Ia - Departed this life on Monday, November 5th, 1945 at Elkader, Iowa. In his 69th year. The body is resting at the McTaggart-Haudenshield funeral home, from where the funeral will be held at a time and date to be announced later. Burial will be in the McGregor cemetery.

McGregor - Services were held Wednesday for Charles Harvey Coon, 57, in the Pilkington Funeral home, with the Rev. Edward H. Shuey officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Grove cemetery.

He was born June 19, 1888, at Clarinda, Ia., and died Monday at the home of Mrs. Mate Hill, south of McGregor. He was the oldest son of John and Mary Coons, and was the last of that family. He came to McGregor 32 years ago and worked in the commercial fishing business with Mate Hill, making his home there. He had been in poor health for three years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a brother.
