Henry Kramer, 74, Claimed by Death
Henry Kramer, a longtime resident of Buhl and former city employee, passed away at the Magic
Valley Memorial hospital at 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 17, following a long illness. He had
been retired the past eight years.

Mr. Kramer was born at Elkadaer, Iowa, May 4, 1879. He came to Buhl in 1920. He married Emily
Cassutt at Guttenberg, Iowa, on October 8, 1916. He was Buhl’s street and water commissioner for
25 years and a member of the fire department for 35 years.

Surviving are his widow, two sons, Tony Kramer and Tom Kramer, both of Seattle; four
grandchildren; three brothers, Fred Kramer, Garnavillo, Iowa; Raymond Kramer, Evanston, Illinois,
and L. J. Kramer, Sr., of San Gabriel, California; one sister, Mrs. Katherine Bradley, San Gabriel, California.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Buhl First Methodist Church with Rev.
Charles Easley officiating. Concluding services were held in the Buhl city cemetery under the
direction of the Albertson funeral home.

Mrs. John Wilson sang “In the Garden” and “Abide With Me” accompanied at the organ by Mrs.
John Grodeon who also played the prelude and postlude music.

Members of the Buhl Rebekah lodge attended the services in a group.

Honorary pall bearers were William Stample, Thomas Holmes, Louis Zucal, E. E. Woodruff, W. V.
Swiger and Earl Peck. Active pallbearers were Dwane Machacek, Pat Hamilton, Earl McGraw,
Don Wilder, Max Smith and Ted Ahim.
