Obituary
Joseph Kramer was born Mary 18, 1867, the son of Joseph and Louisa Kramer. He died Monday
morning, May 28, at the age of 84 years, two months, and 15 days. He was preceded in death by
his parents, three sisters and one brother.

Joseph Kramer was married at Elkport, Iowa, April 10, 1890 to Miss Kate Wentz, daughter of John
and Magdalaine Wentz. To this union two children were born, Clara C. and Milton M. Mrs. Kramer
passed away January 30, 1921.

Most of his life was spent in this vicinity. Quite a number of his earlier years were spent as an
employee in the old established well known Kramer’s Meat Market, followed by 12 years’ service
with the International Harvester Co. During April 1903 he purchased the present Kramer farm which
is now owned by his son Milton and family, from the late Henry Meyer. For 33 years he devoted his
time to the raising of thoroughbred stock and experimentation of corn.

Clara C. (Mrs. Fred Stebor), of Detroit, Michigan, his son, Milton M. of Elkader, five grandchildren,
Mrs. Elaine Stebor Cox, Clinton, K. L. Stebor, Quincy, Ill.; Milton Jr., Clyde and Robert Kramer,
Elkader. Also four great grandchildren, J. T. and Kayelaine Cox, Gary N. and James J. Stebor.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Paul Kitterer, Thursday May 31 at 2 p.m. at the Witt
funeral home. Burial was in the East Side cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Wm. J. Ehrhardt, John T. Cox, K. L. Stebor, Wm. Ehrhardt Jr., LeRoy Eberhardt
and Floyd Eberhardt.

Relatives who attended from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. John T. Cox and family of Clinton, Mr.
and Mrs. K. L. Stebor and family of Quincy, Ill.; and Mrs. Fred Stebor of Detroit, Mich.
