Thomas T. Phelan, 76, father of the Rev. Francis Phelan, chaplain of Mercy hospital here, died suddenly at 10 o'clock Thursday night at his rural home near Garber, Ia. Mr. Phelan was a lifelong resident of that section, and has been a farmer for many years. Funeral services will be at 10 o'clock Monday morning at St. Michael's church, Garber, and burial will be in the church cemetery.

Survivors are his wife; three sons, Father Phelan, Dubuque; Clarence Phelan, Garber, and William Phelan, at home, and one daughter, Miss Mary Phelan, also at home.
