Harvey Montour died Monday, January 28, 2002, at the Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital. He was 86.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 31, at Garden City United Church in Monona. Rec Dennis Gilbert officiated with burial in the Monona city cemetery. Schultz’s Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Harvey Louis Montour, son of Edward and Sophia (Wagner) Montour, was born June 8, 1915, in Monona. He graduated from Monona High School.

He was united in marriage to Evelyn Imogene Huffman on August 22, 1939, at the EUB parsonage in Monona. He owned and operated Montour Produce and enjoyed playing cards and fishing. Harvey served many years on the Monona Fire Department and as fire chief from 1947 to 1952.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Imogene; two brothers, Edward and Floyd.

Survivors include two sons, Dean and wife Marlene Montour of Central City, Steven and wife Cyndi Montour of Inver Grove Heights, MN; six grandchildren, Michelle and Kellie Montour, Cody Schmitz, Nicholas, Derek and Adam Montour; a brother, Don and his wife Joyce Montour of McGregor.

Honorary pallbearer was Bob Jacobson. Casket bearers were Mike Mead, Alan Serbousek, Daniel Straate, Russell Straate, Craig Everman, Troy Everman and Erik Rocksvold.
