Ivanell Woods

Memorial Services were held at 11 a.m. January 10, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elkader, Iowa, for Ivanell (Kuehl) Woods, 95, who passed away on January 7, 2013, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha after a short illness.

Visitation was from 4 to 7 p.m. January 9, 2013 at Leonard Funeral Home, Elkader, Iowa and after 10 a.m. on Thursday at the church, with burial in the St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Elkader, Iowa.

Ivanell was born in Elkader on February 22, 1917, to Fred & Hilda (Tangeman) Kuehl. After graduating from Elkader High School, she attended Cosmetology School in Chicago and operated her own beauty shop in her home for 58 years. She resided the last 9 years at Kingston Court Assisted Living, Elkader.

She is survived by 6 children: Gary (Lois) Woods, Susan (John) Weldon, all of Cedar Rapids, Mary (Michael) Davis of Anamosa, Steve (Dorothy) Woods of Mason City, Bill (Deb) Woods of Phoenix, AZ, and Jean (Myron “Fred”) Meyer of Mt. Vernon; 8 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lois Bennett of Cedar Rapids and Myrna McKenna of Irvine, CA; and two sisters-in-law, Maxine Kuehl of Elkader and Coralinn Kuehl of Frederick, MD, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death was her husband of 60 years, Clarence Woods, son-in-law, Robert Davis, grandson, Bobby Woods, as well as her parents, four brothers, and a sister-in-law.
