Gordon Russell Faust

Memorial services were held at 10 a.m. July 14, 2012 at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Strawberry Point, Iowa for Gordon Russell Faust, 76, of Strawberry Point, who died Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester.

Visitation was held from 4 to 7 p.m. July 13, 2012 at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home, Strawberry Point and one hour before service time on Saturday with burial being July 14, 2012 at Oakland Cemetery, Manchester, Iowa

Gordon Russell Faust was born in Thorpe, IA, on August 20, 1935, to James Russell and Eva Margaret (Prowse) Faust.

He graduated from Edgewood High School with the Class of 1954. In 1958, he was drafted into the U.S. Army where he served his country until honorably discharged in 1960.

On December 20, 1960, Gordon was united in marriage to Julia Myers at Manchester. Four children were born to this union, Gordie, June, James and Gina. Gordon worked at SMI for over 35 years. He loved to go fishing, hunting, camping and playing cards. Spending time with his family is what he loved the most.

Survivors include his wife Julia of Strawberry Point; his children, Gordie (Vicki) Faust of Lee’s Summit, MO, June (Dan) McGraw of Manchester, James (special friend Theresa Burns) Faust of Manchester, Gina (Terry) Bird of Aurora and eleven grandchildren; many cousins and friends.

Gordon was preceded in death by his parents; two grandchildren, Brianna Bird and Justin Faust and a sister in infancy.
