Monday, June 11, 1984Glen J. Jarmes dies suddenly
Glen J. Jarmes, who came to Fairfield when he was employed as a security guard at Parsons College, died suddenly Sunday of a heart attack. His death came at 10 a.m. at the Jefferson County Hospital.
Services have been tentatively set for Wednesday at the Community Presbyterian Church in Postville. Burial will be in the Postville Cemetery.
Visitation will be this evening from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Behner Funeral Home after which the casket will be transferred to the Schutte Funeral Home in Postville.
Glen J. Jarmes was born July 7, 1910, in Monona. He was the son of Frank L. and Erva Koth Jarmes. He was married to Beatrice Minerman Feb. 14, 1931. She died June 23, 1974. His marriage to Marjorie E. Crafton took place Dec. 29, 1975, in Monmouth, Ill. She survives.
Jarmes served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. The family home address is 1000 N. Eighth.
In addition to his widow he is survived by one daughter and four sons. They are Glena Enyart, Postville; James, also of Postville; Jack, South Milwaukee, Wisc.; Jay, Harvard, Ill.; and Jon, Pasadena, Calif.
He is also survived by two step-daughters, Denis Snook and Glenda Cook, both of Fairfield; nine grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren.
