The Passing of Selmer Mork
Selmer Louis Mork, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas E. Mork, was born Oct. 6, 1906, on a farm in Marion township, Clayton county, Iowa, where he lived most of his life. Selmer being an industrious and faithful young man began to earn his own way about three years ago by working as a farm hand for others. Up to that time it was necessary that he remain at home to assist with the work and help care for his invalid father, who preceded him in death.

He was baptized and confirmed in the Marion Lutheran church, where he remained a faithful member, always holding his trust in God. On June 26, 1931, he was overcome by the extreme heat causing his sudden death at the age of 24 years, eight months and 20 days.

Those who live to mourn his passing are his mother; five brothers, Enoch and Robert of Luana, Millard of Postville, Otto and Mellion at home; and two sisters, Mrs. Lewis McNally of Luana and Anna Mae at home; also his grandfather, T.C. Ruroden of Clermont; six nephews and four nieces, several aunts, uncles and cousins, together with many friends.

He was laid to rest in the family lot in the Marion cemetery, Rev. S.J. Stranjord officiating.
