Bernard 'Barney' Whittle, 96, died Sunday, March 29, 1998, in Good Samaritan Center, Postville, from complication of age. Services 11 a.m. Thursday, St. Patrick Catholic Church. Burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Schultz's Funeral Home, Monona.

Survivors include two daughters, Rose Binns of Council Bluffs and Darlyn Griffith of Des Moines; a son, Adelbert "Butch" Whittle of Monona; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Whittle of Monona; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
