Joanne S. Brooks, McGregor, Iowa, February 24, 2013

Joanne S. Brooks, 82, beloved wife of Charles F. Brooks, formerly of McGregor, Iowa died on Sunday, February 24, 2013 in Inverness, FL. She was the daughter to the late John A. and Martha (Reinhardt) Loetz. Joanne was born January 3, 1931 in Marquette, Iowa.

She was a graduate of Marquette High School class of 1949. She married Charles in 1950. Joanne was a homemaker and also a secretary for McGregor High School for many years and also helped out with the Girl Scouts when her daughter was growing up. She was a former communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in McGregor, in where she was actively involved with the ladies auxiliary. Joanne and her husband moved to Dunnellon in 2001 from McGregor, Iowa

Besides her husband Charles, left to cherish her memories are her sons, Joseph Brooks of Portland, OR and Robert Brooks of Hernando, FL; her grandchildren, Jacquelyn, Erica, Kristen, Tiffany, Rachael and Robbie; her great-grandchildren, Trayvon, Trinity, Rodney, Malachi and Ma’Kaio.

Joanne was preceded in death by her daughter, Lynn Brooks- Noesen and her brothers and sisters, Albert Kleinow, John ”Jack” Loetz, Jr., Alvera Soulli and Charlotte O’ Rourke.

Visitation will be on Sunday, March 3, 2013 from 2-5 p.m. with a 5 p.m. Parish Rosary at Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, McGregor, Iowa and one hour before mass time at the church on Monday.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 4, 2013 at St. Mary Catholic Church in McGregor, Iowa.

Burial to follow at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, McGregor, Iowa.

Thornburg - Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of McGregor, Iowa is helping the family with the arrangements.
