Ingeborg Olson Torkelson
Funeral services were hed at the Highland Lutheran church Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 2, for Mrs. Ingeborg Torkelson, who passed away at her home in Elgin, Oct. 29, 1943 at the age of 75 years, 11 months and 16 days. The illness which cased her death lasted four days, but she spent the last two months in bed due to a heart attack.

Rev. A.O. Nesset of Clermont officiated at the funeral and burial was in the cemetery adjoining the church.

Mrs. Torkelson was born in Hallingdahl, Norway, Nov. 13, 1867, the daughter of Asle and Sigrid Olson. She came to America with her parents when an infant. Since the organization of the Highland Lutheran church she has been one of its most devoted and faithful members.

She was united in marriage to Ole Torkelson on March 15, 1887. To this union were born 13 children, two of whom, along with her husband, preceded her in death.

Those left to mourn the loss of a devoted christian mother are, Torvald, Mrs. Alma Schoein, Clarence, Carl, Otto, William, Oliver and Mrs. Ida Larson, all of Elgin and vicinity; Mrs. George Landsgard of Gunder; Mrs. Elmer Benson of near St. Olaf and Oscar of near Farmersburg. There are 25 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two sisters, three half sisters, two brothers and one half brother.

Those who came from a distance to attend the funeral were*, Mrs. Effie Olson of Huron, S.D; Mr. and Mrs. G.E. Texley of Westchester, Ill., Mrs. Gladys Larson, Thomas Lotstven, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Ottosen, Mrs. Mollie Walden, Mrs. E. Hilberg and Mrs. Carrie Loftgard of Decorah; Mr. and Mrs. Olavus Knudston of Guttenberg.
