Mrs. Lars Gregerson died at her home in Highland township, Clayton county, on Sunday, Feb. 25, at the age of sixty-nine years, five months and five days.

Mrs. Gregerson had been ill for about two weeks, but was greatly improved so she sat up in a chair for the greater part of the day. On Friday night she suffered a stroke and never regained consciousness.

Mrs. Gregerson, nee Margaret Olson Aasen, was the next oldest child of Ole and Isabelle Aasen, pioneer settlers of Clayton county. She was born in Marion township, July 30, 1864. At the age of 10 years she with her folks moved to Highland township and that has since been her home. On Oct. 9, 1884, she was united in marriage to Lars Gregerson. To them were born 8 children, two of whom preceded their mother in death, namely Gilbert, at the age of 4, and Selma, at the age of 2.

There lives to mourn the death of this kind and loving wife and faithful mother and friend, her aged husband Lars Gregerson, the 4 sons, Oscar and George, of near Elkader, Louie at home, and Melvin, near Volga, and two daughters, Ida at home and Mrs. Gurine Nelson of Springville, Iowa. There are two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Larson of Elgin, and Mrs. Ben Roble of Caledonia, Minn., and two brothers, Halvor and Ole Aasen of Elgin, also six grandchildren and many other relatives and a host of friends who will greatly miss her kind and friendly helpfulness.

The funeral servies were held from the home and the Highland Lutheran church with interment in the cemetery adjoining the church, on Wednesday, Feb. 28, the pastor, Rev. G. Gunsten officiating. The pall bearers were six old neighbors and the flower bearers were the grandchildren.
