Francis Meisner
Funeral services for Francis Meisner, 73, were held Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the Schutte Funeral home in Postville. The officiating Pastor was John Bald. Interment was in the Wadena Cemetery.
Francis J. Meisner, son of William and Louise (Hofer) Meisner, was born April 20, 1911 in Clayton county, near Elkader. He died April 18 at his home south of Postville.
He was married to Mary Davis and they had three children. They farmed all of their life in the Elkader, Elgin and the Postville area. They had lived in their present home for 42 years.
He is preceded in death by a son, Bradley, in 1970; a grandson Terry Meisner, in 1973; three brothers, Harold, Arthur and Realto, and a half sister, Bertha West.
Surviving are his wife, Mary, a son, Ron and his wife, Judy of Spring Valley, a daughter, Beverly McNally of Postville, six grandchildren, Teresa, Trent, Timothy and Troy Meisner and Jeff and Julie McNally and many nieces and nephews.
Casket bearers were Glen R. Bente, Randy Schafer, Bjarne Roed, Jim Farmer, Donald Snitker and Larry Landsgard.
Honorary Casket Bearers were Percy Beier, Maurice Landsgard, Roscoe Larson, Glen F. Bente, Robert Happel, Francis West, Glen Pixler and Kenneth Jennings.
