On Wednesday of last week, John G. Korte, a widely known citizen of McGregor, was killed by being thrown from a vehicle in a runaway.

From McGregor comes the startling intelligence of the death of John G. Korte, an esteemed citizen of the county, and for years a resident of Giard twp.
Mr. Korte was thrown out of a wagon by the horse running away Wednesday afternoon, and he received injuries which caused his death.
He leaves a family of a wife, three sons and three daughters, Miss Mamie, Mrs. T.J. Sullivan, of McGregor, and Mrs. Henry Schoulte, of Garnavillo.
