Mrs. Wm. Freiderichs (nee Martha Heins) was born Feb. 19, 1875, in Clayton county, Iowa, and died at her home in Castalia, Iowa, at 4:15 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, 1908, aged 33 years and 24 days, death following the birth of a baby boy nine days before. She was married to Wm. Freiderichs, April 16, 1907, who with the little babe, four children by a previous marriage, a mother, sister and four brothers survive her. Mrs. Freiderichs was a kind and dutiful wife and mother, who during the brief span of her life had met with more of the trials than are usually visited upon one of her years, yet she bore them all with christian patience and fortitude until the heavenly father in his infinite mercy called her home to rest. The funeral was held from the Lutheran church in this city at one o'clock p.m. on Tuesday, Rev. R. Kuehne officiating. Interment in the Postville cemetery.

During the service at the church the infant son was baptized by the side of the casket containing the body of its dead mother, the child receiving the names Willhelm Carl Adolph Freiderichs. The witnesses were Mrs. Miene Timmermans, Adolph Freiderichs and Carl Heins.
