Stanley Ben Marovets, 62, Monona, died Friday, Aug. 19, 2011, at Central Community Hospital, Elkader, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Visitation was Monday, Aug. 22, at the Leonard - Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Monona and one hour before services at the church. Funeral services were Tuesday, Aug. 23, at the Living Faith United Methodist Parish, in Monona, conducted by Rev. Dennis Gilbert. Burial was at the Monona Cemetery, Monona, with military honors.

Stanley was born on Oct. 5, 1948, in Prairie du Chien, Wis., to Ben and Evelyn (Kleppe) Marovets. He graduated from M-F-L High School in 1967 and attended Area 1 for Farm Management. He served in the U.S. Army for two years.

Stanley was united in marriage to Joyce Wolter on May 22, 1971, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Guttenberg. Three daughters were born to this union. Stanley farmed on the home farm his whole life and currently worked at Joel's Tractor and Auction.

Stanley was very active in the community sitting in on many meetings and helping organize events. He was a member of Living Faith United Methodist Parish and enjoyed sharing his faith with others. He also enjoyed helping everyone and volunteering, his positive attitude was obvious to all in everything he did and to him feelings were more important than looks or appearances. Agriculture and farming were a large part of his life and he continually promoted them through the Farm Bureau and other farm organizations.

Stanley enjoyed spending time with his family and was great at taking time to have fun with his grandchildren, making every situation a learning experience. His passtimes included dancing, riding motorcycles, traveling, hunting, roller skating and just having fun. He will always be remembered for the way he touched everyones lives in his unique and easygoing way.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce, of Monona; three daughters, Michelle (David) Moser, of Elkader, Angela Marovets, of Monona, Brenda (Chris) Schaefers, of Edgewood; His mother, Evelyn, of McGregor; grandchildren, Austin and Trevor Moser, Tracy, Allan and Rachel Schaefers; two siblings, Karon (Richard) Bahls, of Elkader, Keith (Pat) Marovets, of Luana; brother-in-law, Paul (Mary) Wolter, of Arlington, Texas; Sister-in-law, Susan Wolter, of Milwaukee, Wis., and nieces and nephews. Stanley was preceded in death by his father, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Roy and Genevieve Wolter, and brother-in-law, Gary Wolter.
