DIED- At his home in Marion township, Clayton county, Feb. 6, 1892, of pneumonia, J. C. Rounds, in his 74th year.

The deceased was born in Bristol county, Mass., Aug. 29, 1818. He went with his parents to New York in 1820, and was there engaged in farming until 1844, when he removed to Ogle county, Ill. In 1853 he located in Marion township, Clayton county. He was the owner of 4_0 acres of Marion's choicest land and was one of her most extensive farmers. Was married to Stephina Rypezynski in 1876. Mr. Rounds was a man well and favorably known throughout this portion of the state, having held many of the various township and county offices and in 1874-75 represented his county in the legislature.
