PREACHER'S SON DROWNED MONDAY.
While canoeing on the Mississippi last Monday afternoon opposite McGregor, the canoe containing Roy and Charles Francis, sons of Rev. Francis pastor of the McGregor Congregational church, capsized, and Charles who was unable to swim was drowned. He was a popular young man, 21 years of age, had just finished his third year at Knox College and was spending his vacation at home. Truelly his was a sad fate.

McGregor, Iowa, July 11.—This afternoon while Roy and Charles Francis, sons of Rev. C. Francis, pastor of the Congregational church of this city, were canoeing on the Mississippi opposite town, the canoe capsized and Charles, who was unable to swim, was drowned. He was a popular young man, aged 21, had finished his third year at Knox college, and was spending his vacation at home.
Transcriber’s Note: Find a grave shows he is buried in Hillcrest Cemetery in Volga and was born June 21, 1883.
