Mrs. Anna Maria Pfrommer, nee Rentschler, was born in Wuertzbeck, Germany, Nov. 26, 1985 (sic). She was born in a Christian home and was brought to baptism in her infancy. In later years she was sent to a school of religious instruction. Under the influence of pious teachers she learned to love God's word and house, and when confirmed tried to prove herself faithful to her vows.

In 1873, on August 28 she entered into the holy estate of matrimony with Jacob Pfrommer. The union was blessed with one daughter. In 1880 both came to America, and settled, first at Littleport and later at St. Sebald.

Several years ago they moved to Strawberry Point. About six weeks ago Mrs. Pfrommer became seriously ill. She never regained her strength, but gradually became weaker and finally failed rapidly. Her birthday, which was on Friday saw her most of the time in a semi-conscious condition. Last Sunday afternoon it became apparent that her end was near and at eight o'clock she quietly passed away. She attained the age of 73 years and two days.

Those who survive her are her aged husband and daughter, Mrs. Louie Baumgartner, and four grandchildren. Also one foster son with his family, Mr. John Pfrommer. May she rest in peace. As Rev. M. Jahr was called to the bedside of his father living at Spirit Lake, Rev. G. Melhart of Dundee, officiated at the funeral. Interment was at the St. Sebald cemetery.

~Note: according to her husband's obituary, her death date was November 28, 1926.
