THOMSEN, STOECHER, KEEHNER, KRAFT

Mrs. Martha Dorothea Thomsen, nee Stoecher, was born on Dec 25, 1843 in Schlesswig, Holstein,
Germany, and passed to her reward on Monday morning, January 29 after an illness of but a few
hours. The deceased was united in marriage to Peter Thomsen in 1865. Two children were born to
them, one dying in infancy. In 1870 the family came to America settling on a farm near Garnavillo
upon which they remained until their removal to town. She leaves to mourn her untimely death her
aged husband, one daughter, Mrs. H. L. Keehner, six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, one
sister, Mrs. Peter Kraft of Saratoga, Iowa, and two sisters and one brother in Germany. Funeral
services, conducted by Rev. Braun, were held Wednesday afternoon at St. Paul’s Church
