Funeral services for Irene Charlotte Ball were held at St. John Lutheran Church in Luana, Saturday, Feb. 2, 1980 at 11:30 a.m., with the Rev. Lee Mentink officiating. Burial was in Garnavillo Cemetery. Schultz Funeral Home in Monona was in charge of arrangements.
Irene Ball was the daughter of Carl and Mina (Schmidt) Fascher, born June 27, 1901 in Garnavillo Township, Clayton County, Iowa. She was baptized July 20, 1901 and confirmed March 15, 1915 by the Rev. K. Wm. Braun at Garnavillo.
She was united in marriage December 23, 1919 to Lee Charles Ball at her parents' home. The couple were the parents of 5 children.
Preceding her in death were her husband [Lee Charles Ball on December 30, 1974], her parents, brother, William, a sister, Mrs. George (Amelia) Kluth, and infant brother, Otto and a grandchild, Dianne Ball.
Survivors include a son, Marvin of Waterville, 4 daughters, Mrs. Norman (Gertrude) Schultz of Castalia; Mrs. Keith (Elaine) Wilkens of Postville; Mrs. Ralph (Vernelle) Hornberger of Alexandria, Minn. and Mrs. James (Sharon) Schultz of Oregon, Illinois; 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
