Lorence Bigler

Lorence Bigler, the son of Anna and Henry Bigler, was born in Clayton county, Iowa, December 25, 1900. He passed away at the Community Memorial Hospital, Postville, on May 19, 1964 at the age of 63 years, 4 months and 25 days.

The deceased was baptized and confirmed at the Marion Lutheran Church, Gunder. He attended the rural schools in Clayton county. He spent his entire life working on the home farms.

He served in the U.S. Army from November 3, 1942 until March 1, 1943.

Preceding him in death were his father, Henry Bigler, and one sister, Mrs. Harry (Alma) Heins. Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Anna Bigler; one sister, Mrs. Robert (Mary) Wettleson; 2 brothers: Lloyd of Postville and Richard of Monona; several nieces and nephews; and many friends and relatives.

Military funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Landis Gross at the Marion Lutheran Church, Gunder, on Friday, May 22, at 2 p.m. Burial was in the Postville cemetery.
