Leslie W. Burgin Called Christmas Day; Rites Tues.
Leslie W. Burgin died at his home Christmas night at the age of 82 years.
He was the son of Joseph and Sarah Burgin, born November 21, 1861, near Edgewood. On March 27, 1889 he was married to Emma Rhines. they farmed in this community until retiring to Strawberry Point about 20 years ago. Mrs Burgin died last September 14th. Since that time he has been cared for by his daughters.
Survivors are a son, Irving Burgin of Artesia, Calif., two daughters, Mrs. Earl Stoner of near Strawberry Point and Mrs. Harry Stamp of Lamont, nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Methodist church, conducted by Rev. R. Park Anderson. Music was by Mrs. B. W. Talcott and Dr. R. W. Dutton, accompanied by Mrs. Lloyd Kramer. Casket bearers were Bert Talcott, Will Knight, John Knight, James Sauerbry, Del Caroenter and Earl Knight. Burial was at Edgewood.
