Services Held For Mrs. Leona Beckett

Mrs. Leona W. Beckett was born January 19, 1889, at Garnavillo, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. L. Keehner. She was baptized on February 10, 1889, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Garnavillo, and was confirmed on December 26, 1903, at the same church.

On April 1, 1908, she was united in marriage with Victor Beckett at Garnavillo. To this union 6 children were born, 2 of whom died in infancy, and one, Mrs. Olive Kadlec, died in 1936.

Surviving are one son, Oscar Beckett, of McGregor; 2 daughters: Lois (Mrs. Leo Fish) of Mason City and Barbara (Mrs. LaVerne Mitchell) of Loves Park, Ill.; 10 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; 2 sisters, both from Pasadena, Calif.: Mrs. Lucie Farrell and Mrs. Amanda Seekatz.

She preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers: Waldo and Verni Keehner and one sister, Amelda Schulte.

Mrs. Beckett had for the past several months lived at the Convalescent Center at Prairie du Chien, Wisc. She passed away on April 28 at the age of 83 years, 3 months and 9 days.

Pallbearers were Terry and Jack Mitchell, Ted Arndt, Dexter Ewers, Larry Smith and Larry Fish.
