Arthur Buckman
Funeral services were conducted Monday, December 23 at 1:30 p.m. at Farmersburg Lutheran Church for Arthur William Buckman who passed away suddenly Friday morning, December 20.
Arthur Buckman was born in Clayton County January 17, 1902, the youngest son of William and Mary (Possehl) Buckman. He was baptized into the Lutheran Faith in infancy at Farmersburg, Iowa and was later confirmed at Monona by Rev. Daugs.
He received his education at the rural schools, Clayton county and spent his lifetime farming near Farmersburg, Monona, and Froelich, Iowa. Most of Arthur's lifetime was spent in caring for his mother and brother Arno. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Farmersburg for many years.
Because of failing health Arthur had retired to Monona this past year. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Mrs. W. F. (Frieda) Landt, one brother Arno, and one sister Anna, who died in infancy. Survivors include two nieces Mrs. Harold (Margaret) Sebastian of Dubuque; Mrs. Elmer (Rosalyn) Krambeer of Postville; many cousins and a host of friends and neighbors.
Interment at Monona cemetery, Monona, Iowa.
