The body of Retus Ellenbolt was laid to rest yesterday afternoon at Monona. Funeral services were held from the Haugen home Marquette, the Rev. Allshouse preaching the sermon.

Mr. Ellenbolt died February 8, at the age of 72 years. Retus R. Ellenbolt was born in Green County, Wisconsin May 20, 1859. He came to Iowa with his folks when but a small boy and has lived here since.

In 1880 he was united in marriage to Margan O'Leary. To this union seven children were born, one child, Helen, 4 years old, preceding him in death.

He leaves to mourn his loss: Steward Ellenbolt of McGregor; Retus Ellenbolt, Jr., of McGregor; Fred Ellenbolt of Wauzeka, Wisc.; Roy Ellenbolt of Oconomoe, Wisc.; Mrs. Frank Tayek of Monona, and Mrs. Milbert Haugen of Marquette, and 19 grandchildren. His wife passed away March 19, 1913.

In 1925 he was remarried to Norma Volkert. To this union one child, Alex, was born, who with his mother mourn his loss. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. lodge, joining in Strawberry Point, a good many years ago.

Two sisters survive: Mrs. E. R. Collins, Monona; and Mrs. Albert Albrecht, Oelwein, Iowa.
