HELLENBOLT, ELLENBOLT, BROWN

Another life has fled whose history reaches back into the last century. The venerable Dennis Ellenbolt died at Communia, Iowa, January 7, 1887. He was born in Montgomery County, (Mohawk Valley), New York, July 23, 1796, making him past ninety at his death.

In early life he emigrated to New Castle District, Canada West, and was married to Miss Catharine Brown in 1830. In 1847 he removed to Kane County, Illinois, a few years afterwards to Wisconsin, and from thence to Clayton County, Iowa.

The aged wife and all of his seven children survive him. The funeral services were held last Sunday at the home of son, Stewart, at Communia, by Rev. Isaac C. Lusk, of Elkader and on Monday the remains were taken to Hardin Cemetery, beyond Monona for interment.
