Melinda Sabbann
Services for Melinda Sabbann who died Dec. 1, 1989 at the Postville Good Samaritan Home were held Dec. 4, 1989 at St. Paul Lutheran Church with burial at the Monona Cemetery. Pastor Harold Ward conducted the services and Florence Evans was organist. The Schultz's Funeral Home, Monona were in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were: Bernell Kliefoth, Foster Koth, Robert Kiesau, Dean Schultz, Pat Malanaphy and Bill Gentz.
She was born June 20, 1893 to John and Anna (Buck) Sabbann, rural Monona. She was baptized Sept. 10, 1893 at Clayton Center and confirmed March 24, 1907 at Farmersburg. Melinda attended rural schools in the Clayton County area. She served as a telephone operator for 50 years in Monona. She was a resident of the Postville Good Samaritan Home since October of 1982.
She is survived by nieces and nephews: Mardella Houg and Marcella Tayek, Monona; Donald Sabbann, Clear Lake, IA; Robert Sabbann, Rochester, MN; Delores Burlingame, Prairie du Chien, WI and Clyde Smith, Elkader.
She is preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers: Ewald and Gustave.
