Mrs. Hubert (Ruth Ella Tina Kuthe) Sass 1898-1989

Funeral services for Ruth Ella Tina Kuthe Sass were held Saturday, February 11, 1:30 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Monona. Rev. Harold O. Ward officiated. Burial was in St. Paul's Cemetery.

She was born July 17, 1898 near Monona, IA to parents Richard and Emma Benzing Kuthe. She was baptized August 14, 1898 and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith March 31, 1912 at Farmersburg. She received her education in Farmersburg school.

On April 6, 1921 Ruth was married to Hubert Sass in Monona. The couple had one daughter. They farmed west of Monona in Monona township until Hubert's death in 1967. Ruth moved into Monona in 1967. She remained in her home until April 1982 at which time she moved to East Dubuque, Illinois to live with her daughter.

She died Wednesday, Feb. 8, 1989 at the Southwest Health Center Nursing Home in Cuba City, WI. She had been a resident there for 2 weeks. Ruth was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Preceding her in death was her husband Hubert, who died Feb. 24, 1967; 2 brothers, Harry and Harvey Kuthe and 2 sisters, Adeline Kottman and Emma Appel.

Surviving is one daugher, Marjorie Ball of East Dubuque, Illinois; 6 grandchildren, Vicki Ball, Lynn Ball, Shari Arthofer, Neil Ball, Ross Ball and Cathi Timmerman; and 12 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Jim Tavek, Keith Kishman, Donald Sass, Dale Kurth, Norbert Lembke, Lorraine Lenth. Schultz's Funeral home, Monona, was in charge of services.
