Stanley Edward Scheffert

Funeral services were held for Stanley Scheffert Saturday, January 4, 1997 at Schultz's Funeral home of Monona with Military Rites accorded by AmVets Post 27. Rev. Eugene Kramer officiated. Schultz's Funeral Home of Monona was in charge of services. Interment was in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Luana, Iowa.

Stanley Edward Scheffert, son of Yvo and Vivian (Schroeder) Scheffert, was born March 2, 1950 at Postville, Iowa. He received his education at the Luana School.

Stanley served in the military during Vietnam. He was a life member of the Monona AmVets Post 27. He was self-employed as a carpenter. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing and the outdoors.

Stanley died Wednesday, January 1, 1997 at Rolling Hills Nursing Home, Sparta, WI.

He was preceded in death by his father, Yvo, who died May 15, 1987; his mother, Vivian, who died March 14, 1993; and two brothers, Robert and Delbert.

Survivors include a daughter, Stacy Larsen of Waukon, IA; four grandchildren, Samantha, Jessica, Jordan and Chase; three sisters, Mrs. Frank (Yvonne) Palmer of Des Moines, IA, Pat Lumbus of Oelwein, IA, and Mrs. Arno (Josephine) Schlitter of Luana, IA; three brothers, Ronald Scheffert of Ely, IA, Burdette Scheffert and David Scheffert, both of Oelwein, Ia; many cousins, nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Casket bearers were Robert Lumbus, Danny Schlitter, Rodney Schlitter, Greg Scheffert, Darwyn Scheffert, Lonnie Schlitter, Darryl Schlitter, Eric Scheffert, Kevin Palmer and Brian Scheffert.
